Who Am I?
I grew up in the Canby School District. I did my undergraduate work at Ohio Wesleyan University where I majored in Medieval Studies and got a minor in history when I graduated in 2012. I spent a year as a volunteer intern in the 6th grade at Carus Elementary discovering a passion for teaching.
I then went to Lewis and Clark College and got my Masters of Arts in Teaching in Middle and High School Social Studies in 2014. I spent three years as a substitute teacher exploring and learning about different schools, classrooms, and teaching styles figuring out what I liked and wanted to enact. |
I am extremely passionate about history and language arts. To me they are paths into empathizing with other people and understanding their community. My goal is for students to see themselves as creators of history and active participants in their world.
I love reading, riding my bicycle around country roads (especially when you take a road you don't know where it goes), traveling, playing board games with friends and family, and drawing. I am the middle child sandwiched between two brothers |
